After the loss of her sister Minty we noticed a huge change in our lovely ratty girl Pinky, so we decided it would be a good idea to get her some much needed company. So in October 2010 our family was joined by the delightful pair pictured above. Cupcake who was given this name because she is small and sweet and Jasmine who was given a very girly name because she has such pretty delicate features, plus she does tend to be a bit fiesty just like Princess Jasmine in Aladdin!

Since her new friends have arrived we have noticed a big change in Pinky. She isn't in the same cage as them as being a more mature lady we feel she needs to have her space and not have two youngsters bouncing around her all the time, but she does enjoy getting to play with them when they are out of their cages

My daughter hadn't been planning on getting more rats quite so soon, she had gone to the pet store to get some supplies when she spotted Jasmine and Cupcake in the adoption centre, they were part of an unwanted litter and all of their sisters had already found new homes. Our little ones were still there because they had to rehomed together but they were being overlooked because of Cupcake's size, she was the runt of the litter and much smaller than her sister. She is now catching up with her sister in size and is getting a little fiesty herself! The main reason my daughter bought them so quickly was because she heard some sick person comment that they would make a good meal for their snake as they were small and "wouldn't put up much of a fight"  The same person had already been told they couldn't buy them, but my daughter saw them asking a friend to buy them on their behalf, thankfully she got in there first and we now have two of the sweetest ever ratty girls as part of our family and Pinky has two lovely new friends to play with!

The above photographs have been photoshopped as we would never tie bows or flowers to the girls or give them tea or cupcakes, that would be silly but it does make a cute picture!
